NISSAN CELEBRATES OFFICIAL START OF SALES OF THE ALL-NEW CABSTAR

Hanover - 20 September 2006 --   Nissan Europe celebrated today the official start of sales of the all-new Cabstar. Andy Palmer, Corporate Vice President Nissan Motor Co., Ltd, LCV Business Unit, signed a sales contract with Dr. Ulrich Diller, shareholder of Radi Bakery, one of the major Bakery chains in Hungary. The two executives signed the contract in a ceremony held on Nissan’s stand at the 61st IAA Hanover commercial vehicle motor show.

The contract adds up to more than three-hundred orders that have been already collected by the Fleet Sales organization of Nissan Europe and the Nissan national sales companies.

“The all-new Cabstar is even more appealing today for companies seeking true added value in the vehicles they use for their daily businesses. We have improved the comfort, the safety and the performance of our light duty truck, and the cost of ownership is excellent” said Palmer.

Among the companies that have already posted an order for the all-new Cabstar are many converters. They find Cabstar a flexible vehicle that is excellent for many different conversions, for its extremely efficient balance of dimensions and weights, and for the simplicity of its chassis structure. Cabstar, for example, is the leader in Europe for aerial lifter conversions.

Cabstar also is preferred by many local administrations when it comes to choosing a compact and reliable vehicle for waste collection.

The majority of conversions for Cabstar are concentrated in the open box (fix or tipper) conversion.  The Cab-Over Engine configuration along with its light, all-new global platform, make a perfect combination to ensure high load space efficiency, best-in-class payload capacity and excellent maneuverability.

Nissan announced today that it plans to sell 15,000 Cabstars in 2007 in Europe.
