Haulotte Group and Nissan team up on new Cabstar

Hanover - 20 September 2006 -- Haulotte Group, European leader in aerial work platforms, is cooperating with Nissan to support its entry into the truck mounted platforms market. Haulotte Group will introduce a new range of platforms based on the Nissan Cabstar, raising the standard of performance and safety levels for the segment.


With this agreement, Haulotte Group establishes a foothold in the truck-mounted platforms market and capitalizes on its proven expertise in aerial work platforms. In order to meet the company’s stringent safety requirements, Haulotte Group has identified the Nissan Cabstar as the best product to serve that purpose.


The Nissan Cabstar is a Light-Duty Truck which competes in the 2.8 - 4.5 tonne gross vehicle weight category. Cabstar offers economical running costs, all-round comfort, ease-of-use, efficient load-carrying capability, as well as strong and safe performance.


This supply agreement enables Haulotte to broaden its product offerings without compromising its safety and reliability requirements while, at the same time, demonstrates the capabilities of the Nissan Cabstar in the field of conversions.

Nissan has identified the light commercial vehicle business as one of four breakthrough areas for the company under its Nissan Value-Up three-year business plan, which began in fiscal year 2005. Nissan set ambitious objectives for the LCV business, which are to double operating profit to 8% and grow its sales volumes by 40% to 434,000 units worldwide by fiscal year 2007.
